Still Running combines the author's love for running with his greater love for God into an incredible story, intended as an encouragement for the reader to run his or her own race in life. This true story is about an African orphan who experienced death at an early age when his mother suddenly died from a two-day illness. Without an adult guardian, he put himself through school and eventually matriculates across the Atlantic, where he becomes a crusader against poverty. Incorporating sport metaphors to teach life's lessons, the book is in part an autobiography and an inspirational manual. Its main takeaway is the role of divine intervention versus personal resilience in human pliancy. This book is a tribute to the millions of African children whose childhoods are mired in unimaginable poverty: At least fifty percent of its proceeds go to support the Liberian Education Initiative: African School of the Future (LEI), a proposed model K-12 education environment focused on college preparatory education, sustainable development, and servant leadership.

Still Running II: Shred the Dodo Syndrome - A Little Bird Who Pretended to be Emperor but Failed Spectacularly - Lessons on Why Individuals and Organizations Become Obsolete & How to Prevent It
by James Kerkula (Author) - Format: Paperback
Available (Spring 2027)
The Dodo Syndrome draws on an ancient metaphor to explore persistent failures in human leadership – and unsurprisingly, in the general human population as well.
Long before humans appeared, birds were among the planet’s most organized hunters and cooperative communities. Yet Dodo, a fragile but beautiful little bird, could not fly long distances to hunt for food like the others. Labeled lazy and bullied by the other animals, Dodo grew determined to prove its worth.
Driven by exclusion and resentment, Dodo devised a cunning plan to dominate the other animals. With Woodpecker’s help, Dodo disguised itself as a fearsome forest monster, wearing a giant fake head while hiding its body inside the largest tree trunk. From this illusion of power, Dodo demanded absolute loyalty, relying on empty threats, manipulation, and lies to maintain control. But the deception collapsed when Woodpecker exposed the truth, and Emperor Dodo was overthrown.
Still Running: Shred the Dodo Syndrome is a three-part narrative that uses this fictional bird-emperor’s rise and fall to examine deception, insecurity, and the human hunger for power.
Part I: The Architecture of Delusion analyzes the rapid rise and sudden collapse of Dodo's isolated (rule-by-deception) kingdom… - Part II: The Three-Breed of Human-dodos deconstructs and categorizes humans (professionals and all others) into three distinct “human-dodos” (breeds) or organizational personas plagued and shaped by the "Dodo Syndrome..." - meanwhile, Part III: The Fundamentals for Shredding the Dodo Syndrome (Strategic Dismantling) outlines the foundational principles, behavioral shifts, and accountability protocols required for recognizing, minimizing, and ultimately “shredding” the dodo mindset – both in executive leaderships and in the rest of us (ordinary folks).
